Oh, Canada!

A few days ago, I returned from two blissful weeks on the road. About midway through my travels, I had mixed feelings about returning to Texas and my little cottage in the magic rainforest tree glen. My flowery language might have you thinking, "Why ever would she not want to return to such an enchanting place??" Let me rephrase that: ...I had mixed feelings about returning to my mundane office cleaning business, resuming the day to day tasks in my home, putting gas in my car to once again drive to a place I've already been...

Ahh... I need to be a nomad. *grin*

We set out on this glorious adventure at 4 am on a Tuesday. Four lattes, no sleep, tray table marks on my face (from attempted sleep) and a layover in Salt Lake later, we arrived in Spokane, WA. After an evening with friends (and two more coffees) I found myself lying amid fluffy pillows in a posh 5 star hotel desperately needing my beauty sleep.

Morning came, and a no-star breakfast feast was hot on its tail. Yum yum. After the last bite and the last goodbye, the fam and I hopped in a rental car and we were off to Hot Springs, MT. Accepting the duties of handy dandy co-pilot, I tuned in some Sirius radio and got to head bobbing. Then, we drove.

At dusk we cruised into Hot Springs, keeping our eyes peeled for hippies and a pink bus. No luck. We were trying to track down the Harvest Fest Barter Faire. The locals had no clue. But the nice police officers on the corner, they knew exactly where those darn hippies were. "Waaaay out. Way, way out there in a field" they said. I smiled.

Next up: Hot Springs at night, the awesomest VFW hall ever, and getting my story straight for the border gaurd. (I don't do well under pressure, I guess)

All my love,
The Empress

*sealed with a royal smooch*
